Our commercial partner, Experience East Africa, which also supports Heart For Africa, organises regular trips to Tanzania, during which participants can visit orphanages, schools, safari parks and even climb Kilimanjaro! Trip participants are also encouraged to contribute to our activities in Tanzania through gifts or sponsorship. Every second year, Rhondda sixth-formers participating in Sporting Marvels’ All-Star Programme have the chance to visit Tanzania, and it is planned that in the coming years a trip will be offered specifically for Heart for Africa supporters so that they are able to see firsthand the projects they have supported.

Our latest trip was in February 2024 - this was the first since the COVID pandemic. All Heart for Africa's Trustees were on this trip, along with several young people who work for our sister charity Sporting Marvels, and some current/former participants in the All-Star Programme. It was great to meet up with our Tanzania team, and we visited a number of orphanages, schools, and church communities, as well as having a safari day at Lake Manyara and visiting the Meserani Snake Park and Chemka Hot Springs. Thanks to great fundraising efforts within Sporting Marvels' partner schools and through Rhondda Netball, we were able to donate more in total than on any previous trip - goats, chickens, clothes, toys - as well as a financial contribution to each place we visited.
